5th July 2015 – With seven weeks to go to the IAAF World T&F Championships in Beijing Christine was pleased to put two races together back to back without feeling her recent injury at the British Championships in Birmingham. Although she only managed to finish 2nd in the final in 52.04 seconds the 31 year old was pleased with her performance considering her has only resumed full training following an injury to her hip flexor at the end of May.
“I am happy to be running pain free and got through the two rounds of the British Championships without any negative reaction. I missed four weeks training and although I am behind where I would like to be I know that I will make significant improvements when I get a few more speed sessions done in the next few weeks. I feel strong but need to regain my race rhythm. I have seven weeks to the World Championships and will use this time as best I can – I am always ready to embrace a challenge! ”
Christine’s next race will be at the Monaco Diamond League on July 17 followed by a return to the Olympic Stadium for the London Anniversary Games on July 24/25. After this she has four weeks training before the opening round of the 400m in Beijing on August 24.
